Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum so my apologies if I am not using an existing thread or else...

I have a Polaris Indy LX widetrack from 1996 that I recently bought 2nd hand. The machine worked fine until I had to start it at -30C. The coolant in the system probably froze then. The mix was put in by the previous owner so I don't know what precautions he took. Well, guess what, one of the pipes exiting the water pump burst pretty badly probably from an ice clot and overpressure. The problem now is that, although I found the problem, I am unable to see where that pipe used to go and I cannot find any trace of this pipe in the schematic on this website. So I am a bit lost... Does anyone have a similar issue? Does anyone know if it is easy to replace and which spare part I should order?

I attached some pictures to illustrate. The leak-damage picture shows a red arrow pointing to an unknown location. BTW, I haven't found any other loose pipe or anything in the engine compartment. Also, i don't really understand where it is supposed to go as the water pump is supposed to be fed by the feeder pipe coming from the coolant tank at the bottom of the image, circulate through the water pump to be circulating into the hose to the left of the image. No clue what this bursted pipe is supposed to be doing...

Anyhow, I am also new to snowscooter so trying to get my way around.

Thanks for the help!

Julien

Many sleds hawe water from cooling to intake manifold on carbs and efi trottelbodys to prevent frosen trottels. I dont now if this engine hawe that?

This engine doesn't have heated carbs, so probably that hose just needs a new plug to it. Maybe you'll find one down in the pan :)
And I have hard to see that the eventually other side of the hose just disappears because of the cold temp :)
